The Wagner Experience in Zurich | 18–21 June 2026

Discover Richard Wagner where some of the most important ideas of his artistic legacy took shape: in Zurich. From 18 to 21 June 2026, join Catherine Foster and Klaus Florian Vogt—two of the foremost Wagner voices of our time—for an extraordinary weekend of music, history, and exclusive encounters.

The four-day Wagner Experience begins with the dress rehearsal of the new production of Tannhäuser at Zurich Opera House and continues with an excursion to Tribschen near Lucerne, where Wagner spent some of the happiest years of his life and completed several of his most important works. Accompanied by Dr Sven Friedrich, participants will gain fascinating insights into the composer’s life and artistic achievements.

Back in Zurich, guests will follow Wagner’s footsteps to key locations associated with his years in the city before enjoying an exclusive recital by Catherine Foster and Klaus Florian Vogt on the stage of Zurich Opera House. The day concludes with a festive gala dinner attended by artists and distinguished guests, including Katharina Wagner and Matthias Schulz.

The highlight of the weekend is the premiere of Tannhäuser at Zurich Opera House. Following the performance, guests are invited to an exclusive premiere celebration on the opera house stage—an unforgettable finale to a truly unique Wagner experience.

A unique collaboration between the Bayreuth Festival, the Friends of Zurich Opera House, and Zurich Opera House. Proceeds support educational projects of both Zurich Opera House and the Bayreuth Festival.
